About LISG

Life Insurance Strategies Group was built around a simple observation. The people best positioned to give independent advice about life insurance are almost always the ones being paid to sell it.

Jay Judas spent years as a senior executive inside major international carriers, running distribution, developing products, structuring reinsurance. He watched how the industry worked from the inside. He understood the economics, the incentives, and the points in the process where client interests and industry interests diverge.

He founded LISG to be the firm that sits on the other side of that dynamic. Independent of carriers. Independent of distributors. Not compensated by the outcome. Focused entirely on helping clients make the right decision for their situation, which sometimes means moving forward, and sometimes means walking away.

That is still what we do. Across consulting, creative, and international advisory, everything connects back to the same foundation: deep inside knowledge of how this industry actually works, applied without a sales agenda.
 

Who We Work With

Our clients come from across the life insurance and wealth advisory ecosystem. Some of the most common situations that bring people to us:

  • RIAs, wealth managers, tax attorneys, and CPAs who have a client with a complex life insurance situation outside their core practice, and need independent specialist support without bringing in a producer

  • Family offices evaluating proposed life insurance strategies, reviewing existing policies, or looking for an ongoing independent resource for the insurance piece of their advisory work

  • Affluent families who have been shown a life insurance strategy, PPLI, split-dollar, a large permanent policy, and want a clear, unconflicted second opinion before committing

  • Carriers, reinsurers, and founders building or expanding life insurance businesses who need strategic advisory from people who have run these organizations from the inside

  • Life insurance professionals and firms who want marketing and content that actually communicates their expertise, and want it built by people who understand the market they're speaking to

What these situations have in common: the stakes are high, the decisions are complex, and the usual sources of advice have something to gain from the outcome. That's the gap LISG fills.
 

Our Approach

We do not sell products. We do not receive commissions. We do not have carrier relationships that create obligations or distribution relationships that create incentives.

That independence is not just a marketing position. It is structural. We are compensated directly by clients for advice and services, which means our analysis goes wherever the facts lead, including to conclusions that would cost a producer or carrier a transaction.

We also bring something most independent advisors don't...direct experience inside the industry at a senior level. We have been on the carrier side of the table. We know how products are priced, how distribution economics work, how illustrations are built, and where the assumptions are aggressive. That inside knowledge is what makes the independence meaningful. Not just a claim, but a genuine informational advantage for clients.

Jay C. Judas

CEO

Jay founded Life Insurance Strategies Group after spending his career at the highest levels of the international life insurance industry. Before LISG, he was a senior executive at Crown Global Insurance Group and BF&M Insurance Group, two of the most recognized names in the international HNW insurance market, and served as Country Manager for Life Insurance Distribution at both Sun Life's Bermuda Branch and Old Mutual (Bermuda) Ltd.

Those roles put him inside the carrier and distribution machinery at a senior level: product development, distribution strategy, reinsurance architecture, market formation. He understands how policies are built, how carriers price risk, how distribution economics shape what gets recommended to clients, and where the incentives in a typical sales process diverge from client interests. That experience is what makes independent advisory at LISG different from someone who learned the industry from the advisory side.

Jay is a founding board member of the Life Insurance Consulting Association (LICA), the professional organization advancing standards in independent life insurance advisory. He holds a JD from Rutgers University School of Law, a M.Sc. in Leadership from Northeastern University, and a BA in Communications from the University of Northern Iowa.

Peter T. Dziedzic Jr.

President & General Counsel

Pete oversees LISG's operations and leads LISG Creative, the firm's marketing and content division. He also serves as LISG's chief legal officer,  bringing a layer of legal rigor to client engagements, contract review, and the firm's own operations that most consulting firms of this size don't have in-house.

Before LISG, Pete was a corporate attorney at Weil Gotshal and Ropes & Gray, two of the leading international law firms, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and private equity financing. That background shapes how Pete approaches complex transactions and client situations at LISG; with an eye for where deals and structures break down, how documents actually work versus how they're represented, and how to protect client interests in negotiations most clients don't have the background to navigate on their own.

As the head of LISG Creative, Pete also brings that same analytical discipline to marketing strategy, building content and messaging that holds up under scrutiny from sophisticated buyers, not just content that looks polished.

Pete has a BA from Yale University and a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. Outside the office, Pete once launched a skincare company. It worked.
